In June, my family and I went on holiday to Calella, a beach resort just under an hour's train ride into Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia.
Calella stole our hearts! It has charm, character and a lovely family feel to the place. The streets are littered with independent shops, bars and cafes. In the evenings, there were usually some form of entertainment in the town square- festivals, parades, music and dance. On our last night, we were lucky enough to attend a street party with authentic Catalan dishes and dance routines to try!
The hour's train ride to Barcelona is a must! We managed to squeeze a trip to La Sagrada Familia, Park Guell and a stroll down las ramblas into our day trip itinerary.
I will definitely be returning to the Costa Brava's hidden jewel!
