RUSH HAIR & BEAUTY REVIEW- BIRMINGHAM

I'm always been pretty reluctant to get my hair cut while I'm at uni. For me, it involves a lot of trust and being in a unfamiliar place, it's not like I have a regular hairdresser to rely on. I was lucky enough to receive a complimentary curly blow-dry at Rush Hair & Beauty in Birmingham so I've decided to do a quick review post! I hope this will be useful to like-minded students who are also reluctant to get their hair cut or styled for special occasions away from home and away from their regular hairdressers.

My hairdresser was Eleni and I can't praise her enough! She was so friendly and talkative, which is so important to me (it would be kind of awkward sitting in silence for all that time!)

Firstly, we had a quick chat about what I wanted to get done. She then treated my hair to a leave in Kerastase Elixir  Masque for 10 mins, before washing it out. Then, she worked a pea sized drop of the Kerastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique blowdry lotion into my ends before styling my hair with a GHD hairdryer, which was amazing! I really liked how she would explain the benefits of each product she used and what each product was actually doing for my hair, rather than just smothering it on.

I'd never heard of Kerastase before but I am in love with this brand! You can't actually buy any of their products in high street shops but you buy them at Rush, so even if you can't afford a haircut at the time, do look into buying Kerastase if your hair needs some TLC.

Rush was a really nice experience for me. The staff were attentive and I liked how my hairdresser took her time; there's nothing worse that paying for something when feels horrendously rushed and slap dash.

Trust is a big deal for me when it comes to getting my hair cut. I really don't mind going out barefaced with no make up on but I like to make sure my hair is cut and styled the way I like it; it really makes all the difference to how I feel. As a result, I would much rather pay out slightly more for a haircut or a hair treatment at Rush than to risk being unhappy with the results somewhere slightly cheaper.  I would highly recommend a trip to Rush if you're local to Birmingham and in need of a hair cut!

  1. Wow! I love your hair. It's so full of life. 😍 Oh and I know the nervousness while stepping into a salon. I have curly hair and many hair dressers don't know what to do with it. Thus all of my salon experiences are nerve wrecking.
